"A Name Like Poison" is a song Kaia and I wrote and recorded in her apartment. It was eventually played by Rainer Maria, acoustic, at a record store show, (once I think) and recorded, but never released. "Blanket" is by the band Balthrop, Alabama, recorded in my basement, initially released by End Up Records, June 19, 2012. "Alexandria" and "Sparrow" are solo demos that eventually wound up on the album My Magic City recorded circa 2008. "Barbershop Salsa" was recorded during the My Magic City sessions in New City, NY. "Seasonal Persuasion" was recorded by Josh Kaufman in his Brooklyn apartment for a holiday compilation and performances by the Brooklyn collective, End Up Records. Live songs recorded at Joe's Pub and Dubway Studios in 2010.

I feel like this is what I always wanted bands like Paramore to be- but this is way better. It's so intimate and open and poetic, I feel like I'm reading someone's journal. The production and the music really solidify this post-pop-punk kind of grit- without ever making it sound whiney or angsty. It's grit your teeth as your heart breaks kind of good. Clara Rose
