Do I wanna know your secrets
Before I fall into your arms?
Is this just a bad sign,
Bird on the pavement
Another wolf at the door again?
So let me have a diamond heart
Strong enough to break your pain up
Let me have a diamond heart
Feels like I
Could tear the world
Apart
It’s the killing season
Anything can happen
Anything at all
There’s a ring around the moon
And a ring on your finger
Is it a good sign?
Let me know
And let me have a diamond heart
Hard enough to withstand this
Let me have a diamond heart
All it touches turns to something good

As an emo fan of a certain age (i.e. old), this album feels like such a gift because I can pretend it's the sequel to Brand New's "Deja Entendu" that we'll never get. Had this come out in 2003, like "The Room's Too Cold" or "War All The Time," we'd already be reading 20th anniversary oral histories about the making of this classic album (guess we'll just have to wait until 2040). A stunner, front to back. mattgraupman

absolutely beautiful, crossing the lines between midwest emo and math rock with killer riffs alongside complex drumming patterns really gets me going, not to mention the most relatable lyrics from uncomfortable anxiousness to uncontrollable desire for love and prosperity, love this so effing hella neonicotine
The Los Angeles power duo explore a world of "guitars, grunge, and gas station burritos" on their debut album, a riff-fueled road trip. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 11, 2021
Aussie cosmonauts teleport their art rock to the dancefloor, expanding their spaced-out sound with elements of disco and synthpop. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 17, 2022

I feel like this is what I always wanted bands like Paramore to be- but this is way better. It's so intimate and open and poetic, I feel like I'm reading someone's journal. The production and the music really solidify this post-pop-punk kind of grit- without ever making it sound whiney or angsty. It's grit your teeth as your heart breaks kind of good. Clara Rose
